i think the guy is a genius. his artwork / exhibition amd the product he create are all thought well and are a work of art. his philosophy in his work place and the way he persue it is an inspiration. and i do believe in it as well - the 10 bullets rules and all.
many people miss understood this shoes, the people that dont get it are a new generation of people who are driven from hype and posser mindset. they would see it as a shoe with plastic bag on top and ugly for the eyes and if u ask them why u get it - they would not think twice and take the short cut in cutting the dynima material and get the gems that every sneaker heads want , which is the mars yard that is inside of the shoes for them to show to people that they have a mars yard in their line up collection.
in my opinion this is a canvas wearable art.
and Tom Sachs is a genius.
this shoes had to be work out to get its character, in a way the white upper is a canvas in itself and the owner have to use it and beat it up so the more beater the better it will become. i learn this from a youtube video on 100 days mars overshoes. and i think the guy documented very well what the meaning of this shoes and what u should do with it.
the concept of OG sneaker heads is wear your sneakers, buy what u like and make it yours, not reselling and posing just for grams. people will show if they are OG with the og mindset or hype beast who are posing for the gram from what u will do to this shoes.
the hype beast want to ose for the gram would cut it up and take pic and not understand Tom sachs intention to this. piece of art. while the of will beat the crap out of it and wear and tear the shoes and customize it to make it theirs !.
im gonna try my best to wear 100 days or more on this shoes and documenting it.
i know i cant wear 100 days straight - knowing i work in a global store and sometimes i have to wear a certain brand on certain days for activation. but i will try my best to waar it 100 times.
